We were delighted this year to sponsor a group of students from the University of Southampton in the development of their second-year drone project. This involved an automated flight including take-off, hover, payload drop and landing. As a company, we are keen to promote the development of new technologies and we have a keen interest is all things AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Machine Learning.
Tim Dunn one of the students involved with the projects said “It was essential to have the extra funding and support from DQ Global. This allowed us to purchase more accurate sensors for our drone enabling us to make more informed decisions when running our drone in an automated flight. Without these sensors, the data would have been inaccurate and we would not have been able to complete the task in hand.”
