Meet our Business Development Executive…Hayden Law. Hayden joined us after he graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2019. Before DQ Global, Hayden was a Games Developer working on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Interestingly, he built the in-game airfield that’s based next to our offices at Solent Airport Daedulus!
As Business Development Executive, Hayden is the front-of-house contact for most clients. He supports them on their data quality improvement journey, optimising the customer experience and feeding insights back into the R&D and product development cycle to help us continually innovate with clients in mind.
It’s coming up to Hayden’s one year anniversary with DQ Global, so we thought we would get to know him a little bit better with some fun questions!
Let’s begin…
What movie can you watch over and over again?
Well I’m a huge fan of anything from Tarantino or Kubrick, and I must’ve seen each of their individual movies multiple times. If I had to pick one, I think it would be Pulp Fiction. I have a lot of time for Bruce Willis. Clockwork Orange is a close second.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
When I was a nipper, I won a ‘Conkers’ tournament against about 80 other kids. Just last week I found the little trophy I won for it so it’s fresh in my mind. Either that or achieving a first in my degree… but conkers are way cooler. It’s conkers. My answer is conkers.
What activity helps you relieve stress?
I find exercise is a good way to relieve stress and I’m quite competitive. As such, I very much enjoy playing squash during the week and 7-a-side football every weekend. Other than that, I always find spending time with friends a great stress reliever! Perhaps accompanied with a beer or two…
What’s your biggest fear?
Oh, man. I really cannot stand craneflies. Colloquially known as ‘daddy long legs’ when I was growing up, but these things still really freak me out. I’m not really sure why but I’m guessing it’s deeply repressed so I’m sure I’m not getting over it any time soon. The biggest problem is that where our office is based we are absolutely over encumbered with them so the autumn months are a real hard time for me!
And lastly why do you enjoy working for DQ Global?
It’s a cool team, a cool location and there’s free parking. Oh, the job itself? I learn something new everyday from people that I both respect and can have a laugh with. I also enjoy prefixing everything with ‘DQ’… like, “let’s go for DQ lunch” or “I think we deserve a DQ half-day”. I’m pretty sure everyone in the office is sick of it by now but… I don’t DQ care.
