DQ Global has supplied their Match software to leading football pools and games operator, Vernons, to ensure that their mailings are free from duplicate data.
Vernons rely heavily on direct mail marketing, generating anything up to 14 million mail pieces a year. Since the average cost of a mailing is around 79 pence, it is clearly important to Vernons to ensure they are not wasting money on duplicate mail pieces. This is where Match comes into play.
Vernons regularly perform a de-duplication process, the first step of which involves Match, which identifies the percentage match. The data from this process is fed into their own CRM software which then determines whether the duplicate account can be merged, along with all history, with the master account.
Says Andy McColl, IT Manager of Vernons, "What we particularly like, and is the reason we did not attempt to develop this software internally, is the ability to perform phonetic matching. Database accuracy is of paramount importance in our day to day business and Match saves us many hours of manual checking and matching."
He continues, "We started using Dedupe4Excel more than six years ago, moving up to Match as we required more power. The quality and ease of use of the product means that we have never needed to contact DQ Global for technical support".
Regardless of the size of database, Match has the ability to process 3 million records per hour. The software interrogates all data in one operation, searches for duplicate records, links data in disparate systems, amends poorly formatted names and addresses, merges or transfers information between matching records and purges or removes out of date information. In addition, powerful VB scripting functionality allows users to define and implement their own matching, linking and integration criteria. |
